How to buy the new SHIFT Ready-To-Wear hearing device

In the hearing devices market in Australia today, consumers with hearing loss have a lot of choice. At one end of the spectrum, consumers can choose to purchase Top-of-the-line hearing technology backed by an audiologist's time and expertise in adjusting and optimizing that technology.

At the other end of the spectrum, consumers have the option of sourcing their own solution from an ever-increasing array of self-fitting, Over-the-counter (OTC) hearing devices.

Unitron have created a solution that sits somewhere in the middle, with the SHIFT Ready-To-Wear hearing device. SHIFT is designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss in both ears who need help with their hearing, but don't want to get conventional hearing aids.

Great sound

Unitron have packed the basic features of their Lithium-ion rechargeable hearing aid range into the SHIFT device. This means users of SHIFT can experience the reliability and quality of hearing aids from a trusted manufacturer at a much lower price than hearing aids attract.

Direct connectivity

SHIFT is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing for hands-free phone calls and audio streaming from your smart phone.

Convenient and safe

One of the main points about SHIFT is that you have to program it yourself via the SHIFT Hearing app. Unlike a conventional hearing aid, SHIFT cannot be programmed or adjusted by an audiologist. You can have SHIFT shipped to your front door and experience it without leaving the comfort of your own home.

The SHIFT Hearing app is available on the App store and Google Play, and is compatible with iOS12 or higher, or Android 8 or higher.

Support you can trust

The same app you use to set up and optimize SHIFT also contains useful instructional videos to ensure you are getting the most out of your devices. You can access SHIFT without an appointment with an audiologist, but if you have any problems, it's worth remembering that SHIFT features all the same external parts as Unitron's hearing aid range does, and Lindfield Audiology is well-equipped to support you.

Important information

How do I know if SHIFT is right for me?

SHIFT is designed only for people with mild to moderate hearing loss in both ears. If you don't know what degree of hearing loss you have, you could try Unitron's hearing screener:

When you have finished the hearing screen, you can download a report of your results. This will help give you an approximation of your degree of hearing loss. If you are in any doubt, feel free to contact us to discuss your report.

You should not try SHIFT straight away if you have the following:

  • Hearing loss only in one ear or worse in one ear than the other

  • Tinnitus only in one ear

  • Dizziness or balance problems that you can't explain

  • Recent ear infections or recent ear pain, itchiness or discharge

If you have any of these problems, we recommend coming in to see us first.

How much does SHIFT cost?

The full price of the SHIFT kit is $2200.00. The kit includes:

  • 2 x hearing devices (comes only in silver + white colour scheme)

  • Charger

  • Cleaning brush

  • Small, medium and large domes. SHIFT is delivered with medium domes installed

  • Wax guards (1 pack)

  • Product user guide
